The Local Water Quality District in Gallatin County, Montana  recognized that there is no readily accessible and comprehensive database for septic system review.  In response to this need,  several comprehensive spatial data bases were developed.  These data bases should be useful from a variety of perspectives.

  • Help the Local Water Quality District better understand water quality issues in the District
  • Help Gallatin County Department of Environmental Health put applications into perspective
  • Help property owners and developers better understand and plan for septic system limitations
  • Help the Gallatin County Planning Office better plan for growth and development
  • Help reveal what types of data need most intensive review and on-site measurement
  • Help the public to place proposed projects in appropriate context

The mapping applications outlined below are intended for analysis of areas (10-20 acres) NOT SITES.  The hyper links will take you to either static map images or to maps displayed by Arc Internet Map Server, a spatial data web publishing package developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI).
